About the Project

The "HBCU Library Alliance - Cornell University Digitization Initiative," which began in 2005 is a continuing education and digital collection production initiative. The goal of the project is to build a cadre of HBCU library staff trained in digital collection building. Funding was made possible by The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.

This historic collection is the product of a partnership between the HBCU Library Alliance, Cornell University Library, twenty HBCU institutions, and the Southeastern Library Network (SOLINET).

Project Leadership
